I assume that I do not have to render my name here again. I was born in Amsterdam a few months before Man walked the Moon and more or less had left town before they packed up and got home. I am a bookkeeper (for all those Americans out there: in Holland you can't just call yourself an accountant, hence the archaicism) and have been for the last ten years or so, and I own a cat, that has existed for the last ten years or so, too. The appearance of synchronicity is as coincidental as it is irrelevant.
After having tried programming in an after-the-dotcom-boom-world, I would still like to get a job as a programmer; but I'm considering seriously to just specialize in accounting and share my knowledge via various OSS initiatives.
The family I have is as big as it is boring (I mean to say neither), and I prize myself lucky with a few outrageous friends that happily conjure up stuff to complement my idle days. Then, there is the cat :-)
If anything, I'd say that right now, I'm dealing with the internet. I like it. Early 2000 I suddenly had to build a site for Homme. All of a sudden T.A.E.N.I.A. found itself without a webmaster, too. Luckily, I met Lukas a year earlier, and we frolic around with (our colocated) servers and their applications whenever we got time.
This site helps in accessing a bunch of amateuristic outings; I could mention my abuse of guitars, and of course I have been known to blow up computers. Intentionally :-) Mostly, however, the work is in the infrastructure that gets this page to you, so if you don't like what you see, well, that is just not the issue!
I once put in an enourmous amount of refurbishing at 108 Hogewoerd, Leiden.

So far, so good. I now intend to focus on the evolutionary qualities found in RAD programming. Complex neural networks may hold the future in assessment and emulation of human behaviour, the functionality created by like tools will have its main effect on a level that large numbers of people will still be able to grasp, and will slowly accept as natural. I like to think that being involved in the even deployment of knowledge, I do my part in getting this planet of its ****.
